When you visit the Children's Room, we will be happy to help you find what you need! We have books, magazines, audio books, puppets, puzzles, music, and more.
Children, teen, and family programs and storytimes are held throughout the year and are always free of charge. Check the library events calendar for programs:
We currently offer two storytimes. Family Storytime is on Tuesdays at 10 am, where we explore reading, the alphabet, counting, moving, sharing, and bubbles for children 0 to 5 and their siblings. Movin' and Groovin, on Fridays from 10:00-10:45 am is an active musical story time with lots of dancing for birth to Pre-K. You don't have to register for storytimes, just come and have fun!
Burton Library offers a wide selection of VOX books that include a VOX reader that will read the story as you look at the pages in the book. VOX books are not holdable, but you can check them out when you come to visit the library.
S.T.E.A.M. Book club is our monthly book club for ages 10-18. We meet the first Wednesday of the month to read, discuss & participate in a S.T.E.A.M. project based on the book for the month. You can join at any time, the book will be listed in our calendar event, and will be available to check out at our youth services desk. Registration is so we know how many books to have available.
8th-12th graders can sign up to join our Teen D&D group. Choose from pre-made character sheets (Or bring your own 5e Level 2 sheet) and join the adventure! Some stories may be linked, but there will always be places for new adventurers to join. Sign ups are on our calendar.
